Purchase Butterfly

October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month.

Pregnancy & Infant Loss touches the lives of 1 in 4 families in Canada.  The Baby Lauryn Elizabeath Project raises funds to provide Infant Loss Memory Boxes, Angel Gowns, as well as handprint and footprint kits to families during their time of loss.

Funds are raised through the sale of "Wings of Hope Butterflies" for $20 each during the month of October. The 2024 Wings of Hope ornament was designed with the help of Baby Lauryn Elizabeth's family and features her footprint in the butterfly wings.

Together, we are Caring for our Communities.

The Impact of Your Donations

The Baby Lauryn Elizabeth Project provides support to families experiencing pregnancy and infant loss on the Burin Peninsula.

With the generosity of local families and community partners, the program offers Infant Loss Kits, Memory Boxes, and Angel Gowns, given to families during their time of loss. Donations have also made it possible to provide a Cuddle Cot, allowing families one of the most precious gifts: time to grieve and cherish their baby.  In addition, the project commissioned a beautiful piece of artwork, “The Springtime of Life”, for the Nursery Room windows at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre. Created by artist Jim Miles, the painting symbolizes new life and creation, honors pregnancy and infant loss, and celebrates rainbow babies.
