Burin Peninsula Health Care Foundation

About Us.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to complement traditional funding sources and enhance local healthcare services on the Burin Peninsula - supporting local hospitals, clinics, patients and families living in remote and rural communities within the region.

About Us

Incorporated in 1991, the Burin Peninsula Health Care Foundation is a philanthropic partner of NL Health Services. We serve approximately 20,000 residents throughout the Burin Peninsula - affectionately known as “the boot” - a region made up of many scenic and close-knit coastal communities.

Our Foundation supports six community-based healthcare facilities: the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre (Burin), US Memorial Long-Term Care Facility (St. Lawrence), Blue Crest Nursing Home (Grand Bank), Dr. S. Beckley Community Health Centre (Grand Bank), Marystown Community Health Building (Marystown), and the Placentia West Medical Clinic (Boat Harbour).

Through the generosity of our donors, we fund equipment, programs, and initiatives that enhance the quality of care for patients, families, and healthcare workers across these facilities. Our support spans a wide range of sectors, including Cancer Care, Dialysis, Labour & Delivery, Long-Term Care, Mental Health and Addictions, Medical Transportation Assistance, Palliative Care, Pediatrics, Pregnancy and Infant Loss, Rehabilitation, and Women’s Health.

Each investment we make strengthens access to quality care close to home and helps ensure that the people of the Burin Peninsula receive compassionate, community-focused healthcare.
