Burin Peninsula Health Care Foundation
The Burin Peninsula Health Care Foundation Scholarship Program was established in 2024 to support residents of the Burin Peninsula during their post-secondary educational journey in the healthcare field.
Two scholarships of $500 each will be awarded to post-secondary students pursuing education in a healthcare discipline or other related profession. The successful applicants will be able to use the funds at their own discretion over the duration of their academic program to best meet their educational needs.
ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS:
To be eligible, the applicant must:
Be a resident of the Burin Peninsula;Be pursuing a certificate, diploma, undergraduate, graduate, or post-graduate education in a healthcare related field; Be currently enrolled full-time or part-time in a post-secondary program in a healthcare field; and, Have received a minimum average or 75% in the last academic year.
APPLICATION PROCESS:
Applications for the BPHCF Scholarship must be submitted using the downloadable PDF form above, along with the following pieces of documentation:
A letter outlining the applicant's current area of study and interest; Three letters of reference, including: One from an employer, One from an academic source, One from a personal source (non-family related), i.e., community involvement or volunteer experience; Resume/Curriculum Vitae; Confirmation of enrolment in a chosen program for the current year; Most recent transcript(s)
The BPHCF Scholarship Review Team will only review the requested information. Any additional materials will not be reviewed. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Congratulations to our 2025 Burin Peninsula Health Care Foundation Scholarship Recipients, Tenika Grandy of Winterland and Jaelyn Brenton of Marystown.
On August 18th, 2025, our Board Chair, Debbie Linehan, and Executive Director, Vanessa Jackman, proudly presented each student with a $500 Post-Secondary Scholarship in support of their educational journeys.
We are so proud of Tenika and Jaelyn, and wish them every success as they continue their studies and work toward making a difference in healthcare.
