Hike Da Boot Challenge.

319km. DONE ANYWHERE, ANYTIME.

EXPLORE YOUR BACKYARD.SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL HEALTHCARE CENTRES.

REGISTER NOW

This spring and summer, we challenge you to explore your own backyard and support your local healthcare centres, right here at home on the Burin Peninsula.

From April 1 to September 30, join the Hike Da Boot Challenge: a virtual challenge for those living on the Burin Peninsula, visiting during Come Home Year 2022, or simply wishing you could be back home.

Registration is $40 per participant, per challenge, or you can collect a minimum of $40 in sponsorships from your friends and family to support you on your journey.

All funds raised during this year's Burin Peninsula Trails Challenge will stay right here at home on the Burin Peninsula, and will support the purchase of a Cuddle Bed for the Palliative Care Unit at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre.  A Cuddle Bed is a larger hospital bed that can comfortably fit two people.  When used in Palliative Care, the Cuddle Bed will give family members and care takers additional space to lay with their loved ones at end-of-life.

The Challenge.

319km. Anywhere, Anytime.

Virtually walk, run, hike, swim or bike your way down the Burin Peninsula Highway from Goobies to Marystown, past Garnish and Frenchman's Cove, around the boot through Grand Bank, Fortune, Lord's Cove, Lawn and St. Lawrence, towards Burin and back to Marystown again.

A grand total of 319km done anywhere, anytime.  Track your own kilometers using your at-home equipment, fit bit, or whatever method works best for you.
